
The Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize 2025
Submission Rules
1. The Prize
The winner will receive a jeroboam of Bollinger Special Cuvée, a case of Bollinger La Grande Année, the complete set of the Everyman’s Library P.G. Wodehouse collection, and a pig named after their winning book.
Each year the prize celebrates the novels that have really made people laugh over the past twelve months. A shortlist will be announced in October and the winner will be announced in December.
2. Eligible Books
Any genuinely funny full-length novel, published by an established publisher in the UK or the Republic of Ireland between 1 June 2024 and 31 May 2025.
Authors must be living at the time of the award and publishers should make it a priority to ensure that authors whose books are submitted make themselves available for publicity from shortlist stage (October), and for publicity and related events in December in the event they win.
No English translation of a book written originally in any other language is eligible.
Self-published books are not eligible.
Children’s books will not be considered by the judging panel.
Publishers must send a press release/ATI, author headshot, book jacket image, book PDF and submission form by email. Once submissions have been received, details will be supplied of where a hard copy of each title should be sent. A further six hard copies will be required for those titles that reach the shortlist stage.
E-book submissions will only be accepted from an established imprint. In the event that an e-book is shortlisted, the publisher must undertake to produce hard copies and make these available for sale within 10 days of the announcement of the shortlist.
All submissions are made on a confidential basis.
